Hinduphobia in India

We all are completely aware about the fact that how Hinduism and people following Hinduism has been targeted by some political parties and people from other communities. 

India is considered to be the largest democracy in the world. India got independence on 14th August 1947 and declared itself as a Sovereign, Democratic and Republic state with adoption of the constitution on 26th January 1950. In 1976, with the 42nd Ammendment Of Constitution Of India, India adopted the concept of Secularism and declared itself as a Secular country.

Some basic features of Secularism:-

- India doesn't have any official religion.

-All citizens are free to propagate, practice any religion.

-No discrimination on the basis of religion.

-Equal respect for all religions.

79.8% of the India's population follow and practices "Hinduism" thus making  it as the largest religion in India.  Even if India is a secular country, some political parties and some people of other communities trying their best to defame Hindusim even if majority of Hindus opt to be secular. I dont know why there is so much hate for Hindus in their own country! 

Let us look at the following cases so that we can understand how Hindu's has been a soft target by others.

1- TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee made disrespectful remarks against Goddess Sita and Ram Bhakts while speaking at a rally. “Sita told Ram that I'm grateful Ravana kidnapped me. “I would have ended up like the Hathras victim from Uttar Pradesh if your people singing ‘Jai Shri Ram' and brandishing saffron headgear had grabbed me,” the TMC leader remarked at a gathering.

2-  In 2021 Kerala Assembly Election, Congress fielded a party leader named Bindhu Krishna from Kollam constituency  who had earlier organised an Anti Hindu' Beef Festivals' in Kerala in 2017.

3- On 18th March, a video of Senior Telangana IPS Officer RS Praveen created a storm on social media in which he was asking children to take pledge to not to follow any Hindu rituals and traditions in near future. He was also accused of running a Anti Hindu propaganda in the name of "SWAROES" by Hindu Organisations and some BJP leaders.  He was again accused of attacking the BJP leaders with rods and stones  with the help of Swaroes members.

4- Thol Thirumavalavan, a Member of Parliament from Tamil Nadu's Chidambaram constituency, made hateful remarks against Hindus by claiming that Hindu religious scriptures treated women as "sex workers."

5- In October ,2020 web streaming service Eros Now faced backslash on social media for posting memes which insulted the Hindu festival of Navratri.

The streaming platform had sexualised the Hindu festivals by attaching vulgar texts to photos of Katrina Kaif that read, “Do you want to put the ratri in my Navratri”, an image of Ranveer Singh that depicted him lewdly saying, “Let’s have majama in my Pyjama”. Another damning post was the one in which Eros Now had put up a caption for a meme featuring Salman Khan, saying, “You need a dandi to play dandiya – I have one.”

6- The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) filed a police complaint against comedian Surleen Kaur and Shemaroo Entertainment for certain derogatory comments, following which the production company has issued an unconditional apology to the ISKCON community and taken the offensive video down.

In the said video, which was released a few months ago and widely circulated on social media, Surleen allegedly says: "Beshak hum sab ISKCON waley hain, par andar se sab harami porn waley hain (Undoubtedly we are from ISKCON, but inherently we are all porn people)."

The comedian also took a dig at Hindu saints: "Dhanya ho humaare rishi muni jinhone thodisi Sanskrit use karke apne bade bade kaand chhupaye hain... Kamasutra. (praised be our saints who used a little bit of Sanskrit to hide all big misdeeds)."

7- During the rise of Anti- Hindu riots in Delhi,where Islamic followers were busy in violence and killing of Hindus. A video surfaced om social media where a group of muslim youths can be seen hurling abuses at Hindus. They not only used extensively offensive words against Hindus but also threatend to rape Hindu women.One of them audaciously shares a mobile number saying that whoever wants to call is welcome to do so. “I would come and rape your daughter anywhere in Gurgaon”, says the youth.

8- In 2019 Banglore Riots,  a mob of Muslims  attacked and vandalised the house of Congress Leader  akhanda Srinivas Murthy and his  P Naveen  after his controversial post on Prophet Mohammad. The protest turned into violence in which 3 people were killed and 70-80 police men were injured.  But was the riot pre-planned to attack and abuse Hindus? Yes, it was.  After the riots, a screenshot got viral on the internet where a Muslim man posted a degradtory post on Goddess Lakshmi to which P.Naveen replied a degradtory post on Prophet Mohammad on that post which was later cropped to  create violence in the city and abuse Hindus.

There are more incidents like this where Hindus had been targeted by other communities and some political parties.

But it seems like" Sirf Hinduon  Ne Theka Le Rakha Hai Secular Ban Ne Ka".🙂
